In diesem quantitativen Vertiefungsseminar werden insbesondere regressionsanalytische Verfahren für Querschnittsdaten unter Anwendung des Statistikprogramms "Stata" anhand von Fragestellungen der sozialwissenschaftlichen Arbeitsmarktforschung vertieft. Als Datengrundlage wird der Lehrdatensatz des Sozio-oekonomischen Panels (SOEP) dienen. Das Seminar ist für Bachelor-Studierende konzipiert, die erfolgreich (=bestanden) an der Vorlesung Statistik I teilgenommen haben und Grundkenntnisse in "Stata" mitbringen.
Inhaltlich werden Fragestellungen der sozialwissenschaftlichen Arbeitsmarktforschung bearbeitet. Im Fokus steht hierbei die Frage, welche Determinanten es hinsichtlich der Positionierung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt gibt. Die Positionierung wird hierbei beispielsweise entlang des beruflichen Status, der Autonomie, des Lohnes und der formalen Fehlqualifikation von Beschäftigten gemessen. Als mögliche Determinanten werden beispielsweise der Migrationshintergrund, die Bildung und die soziale Herkunft untersucht.

Erfolgreiche Teilnahme (=bestanden) an der Vorlesung Statistik I. Gute Kenntnisse des Statistikprogramms 'Stata' sind höchst empfehlenswert, aber keine strikte Teilnahmevoraussetzung. Es ist im Interesse der Teilnehmenden, fehlende 'Stata'-Kenntnisse vor und während der Veranstaltung selbstständig zu erarbeiten.
