Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit dem Werk und Werkkontext Heinrich von Kleists.
Um die "sperrige" Rolle Kleists in der Literaturgeschichte näher zu untersuchen, werden seine Texte literaturhistorisch kontexualisiert und zudem auf Inhalts- und Stilebene mit anderen zeitgenössischen Texten verglichen. Dabei kommen Verfahren des Close und Distant Reading zum Einsatz. Vorkenntnisse in Distant Reading sind nicht erforderlich, wohl aber die Bereitschaft, einfache Verfahren der "Digital Humanities" für die Textanalyse auszuprobieren. Das Blockseminar wird in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Basel durchgeführt - daher handelt es sich um ein vollständig online durchgeführtes Seminar
