In jeweils einer einzelnen Sitzung werden die wichtigsten Autoren bzw. Gattungen der lateinischen Literaturgeschichte vorgestellt: In der ersten Hälfte der jeweiligen Sitzung wird ein Autor bzw. Gebiet überblicksmäßig vorgestellt, in der zweiten Hälfte werden kurze, besonders signifikante Texte gemeinsam übersetzt.
Semesterablaufplan für die einzelnen Sitzungen:
1. archaische Literatur

3. Catull
4. Sallust als Vertreter der römischen Geschichtsschreibung
5. Cicero
6. Vergil
7. Horaz
8. die Elegiker Properz und Tibull
9. Ovid
10. Seneca als Philosoph und als Tragiker
11. Persius und Juvenal als kaiserzeitliche Satiriker
12. kaiserzeitliche, besonders flavische Epik
13. Apuleius als Vertreter der Gattung Roman
14. spätantike, besonders christliche Literatur
