"Unbekannte Räume mit einer anthropomorphen Außenhaut" -mit diesen Worten charakterisiert der amerikanische Bildhauer Richard Serra das Guggenheim Museum von Frank O. Gehry in Bilbao und fährt fort: "Seine Architektur entsteht nicht aus einer alten Ordnung. Er ist der Erste, der Wirklich mit der Konvetnion des rechten Winkels bricht".
Das MARTa in herford wurde im Mai 2005 als Haus für Archtiketur, Kunst und Ambiente eröffnet. In der Exkursion wird sowohl die Architektur Frank O. Gehrys als auch das Konzept des MARa vorgestellt und diskutiert werden.
