Das Seminar gibt den Studierenden einen Überblick über zentrale Inhalte der Bereiche der Personal- und Organisationsentwicklung. Beide Bereiche sind heute nur komplementär zu denken, d.h. Personalentwicklung muss die Seite der Organisation miteinkalkulieren und umgekehrt.
Der Überblick thematisiert Aufgaben, ausgewählte Instrumente und theoretische Grundlagen der beiden Bereiche. Dabei wird besonderes Augenmerk auf die Verbindung theoretischer Perspektiven (Denkwerkzeuge) und Instrumente (Handwerkzeuge) gelegt. Diese Verbindung gründet in der These, dass Handwerkzeuge (z.B. Coachingmethoden) ohne innere, kognitive Landkarten nicht professionell eingesetzt werden können.
