Die Funktion der Literaturkritik hat sich in den vergangenen 300 Jahren verändert, analog zur Entwicklung der Literatur seit dem 18. Jahrhundert. Die Gegenwart der Literaturkritik ist geprägt vom medialen Wandel, neuen Präsentationsformen, der Prägung durch wenige „Star“-Kritiker und der Diskussion um die Krise der Literaturkritik. All dies sind Zeichen für das Interesse am Genre und für die Bemühungen um seine Anpassung an die sich ändernde Literatur und Gesellschaft.
Das Blockseminar hat drei Bereiche:
• Einführung in die Funktion und Geschichte der Literaturkritik
• Analyse der Praxis der Literaturkritik
• Medien der Literaturkritik
