In der Veranstaltung sollen aktuelle Wandlungsprozesse der kapitalistischen Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsformation behandelt werden. Zunächst wird das deutsche korporatistische Wirtschaftsmodell vorgestellt und mit anderen Kapitalismusmodellen verglichen („Varieties of Capitalism“). Dann werden Erosionsprozesse des deutschen Modells in verschiedenen Dimensionen (Arbeitsbeziehungen, Corporate Governance, Wohlfahrtsstaat) diskutiert. Schließlich wird nach dem Zusammenhang von wirtschaftlicher Globalisierung und dem Wandel kapitalistischer Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsformation gefragt.

Erwartet wird eine regelmäßige Teilnahme an den Seminarsitzungen. Zu einer aktiven Teilnahme gehört außerdem die Bereitschaft, zur Vorbereitung jeder Seminarsitzung einen Text (im Aufsatzformat) zu lesen.
Eine benotete Einzelleistung kann in Form einer schriftlichen Hausarbeit erbracht werden.
