This class will introduce and analyze representative examples from five major Romantic poets: Wordsworth, Coleridge, Keats, Shelley, and Lord Byron. Starting from a close reading of the poems themselves we will proceed to a detailed analysis within their socio-cultural environment.
A reader containing the term texts will be available in the first class meeting.
