Im Seminar werden die soziologischen Konzepte Pierre Bourdieus am Beispiel seines Werks „Die männliche Herrschaft“ (Frankfurt: Suhrkamp 2005) erarbeitet und ihre Funktionsweisen vertiefend betrachtet. Dabei geht es zum einen darum, einen tiefen Einblick in die Gesellschaftsanalyse à la Bourdieu zu gewinnen. Zum anderen soll der Nutzen seiner „Denkwerkzeuge“ – soziales Feld, Habitus, illusio, symbolische Gewalt etc. – für die Geschlechterforschung untersucht werden.
Von den Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern wird die Bereitschaft erwartet, das Werk „Die männliche Herrschaft“ zu lesen und sich ggf. auch darüber hinaus intensiv mit Texten von Bourdieu und anderen auseinanderzusetzen.
