The purpose of this seminar is to guide students through the process of individual in depth studies related to the content of the ME 18 module of the Master of Arts in Education degree program, i.e. seminar ME 18.1: Empirical analysis of educational and welfare systems ("Beleg-Nr." 250253) [dt. Paralleltitel: Empirische Analyse von Bildungs- und Sozialsystemen] and seminar "Empirische Analyse von Pädagogischen Institutionen und Ihren Akteuren" (Beleg-Nr. 250251).

Im Mittelpunkt steht das Selbststudium an selbst gewählten Themen im Inhaltsbereich der Seminare ME 18.1 und ME 18.2., d.h. den Seminaren "Empirische Analyse von Bildungs- und Sozialsystemen" (Beleg-Nr. 250253) und "Empirische Analyse von Pädagogischen Institutionen und Ihren Akteuren" (Beleg-Nr. 250251).

The purpose of this seminar is to guide students through the process of individual in depth studies related to the content of the ME 18 module of the Master of Arts in Education degree program. Following initial and subsequent consultations with the lecturer, participants can render their course achievements related to the elements 1 and 2 of module ME 18 by at least two means: Firstly, an assignment of approximately 15 pages. Secondly, a collaboratively written scientific article. At the point of handing in to the lecturer, the latter shall be in the status of being ready for submission. All participants are welcome to hand in their papers in English.
The initial session will take place on Tuesday, October 18th 2011, 5 - 6 p.m. in Room T6-241 (Office of Dr. Kullmann). Dates for further consultations and feedback will be arranged in the course of the first session.

''Dieses Seminar dient dazu, die Einzelleistungen, die im Rahmen des Moduls ME 18 erbracht werden, zu betreuen. Sie können Ihre Einzelleistung in Absprache mit den Dozentinnen der Elemente 1 und 2 in unterschiedlicher Form erbringen. Denkbar sind etwa eine Hausarbeit oder – gemeinschaftlich – die Erstellung eines Fachartikels. Zur Betreuung wird es im Verlauf des Semesters mehrere gemeinsame und individuell vereinbarte Betreuungstermine geben. Jede Studentin / jeder Student kann die Vertiefungsleistung in englischer Sprache einreichen.
Der erste Präsenztermin findet am 18.10.2011, von 17.00 - 18.00 Uhr in Raum T6-241 (Büro von Dr. Kullmann) statt. Weitere Besprechungstermin werden in der ersten Sitzung vereinbart.''
