Entgegen der ausgrenzenden Rede von integrationsunwilligen Parallelgesellschaften voller unaufgeklärter Kopftuchmädchen und kleinkrimineller Kanakstas ist in Literatur und Musik, in Kino und Fernsehen, im Radio und auf den Bühnen unübersehbar, dass Deutsch-Türkisches längst zu einem wichtigen Bestandteil der Gegenwartskultur geworden ist. Anhand von Beispielen aus verschiedenen Bereichen wie Literatur (z.B. Aras Ören, Emine Sevgi Özdamar, Feridun Zaimoglu), Film (z.B. „Almanya“, „Gegen die Wand“, „Kebap Connection“) und Musik (z.B. Aziza A., Cartel, Eko Fresh) sollen unterschiedliche Facetten deutsch-türkischer Kultur kennengelernt und diskutiert, ein historischer Überblick der Entwicklung von den 1960er Jahren bis zur Gegenwart gewonnen sowie mit theoretischen Konzepten der Interkulturalität vertraut gemacht werden.
