239199 Einführung in die Mediävistik (V) (WiSe 2011/2012)

Die Veranstaltung führt in die Germanistische Mediävistik ein. Ausgehend von einer Klärung des Begriffs Mittelalter sollen epochale Gliederungsmodelle von der Spätantike bis zur frühen Neuzeit diskutiert sowie das Spektrum der literarischen Gattungen aus dieser Zeit vorgestellt werden. Beispiele zur Schriftentwicklung und zur Buchkultur, zu metrischen Besonderheiten (z.B. bei der Stabreimdichtung), zu Formen der Rhetorik und Stilistik vermitteln wichtige Grundlagen für die Analyse mittelalterlicher Texte und ihres Überlieferungszusammenhangs. Zugleich will die Veranstaltung Interesse für Forschungsgegenstände der Mediävistik wecken: so für Fragestellungen zum Verhältnis von volkssprachiger und lateinischer Literatur und zum literarischen Kanon, für Editionsprobleme vormoderner Dichtung ("New Philology") und für die Stellung der Literatur im kulturellen Gedächtnis Alt-Europas.
