Ausgehend von der gleichnamigen Studie von Vera King sollen im Seminar "Lust und Frust" dieser besonderen Lebensphase betrachtet werden. Die Bedeutung von Familie, Peer Group und Körper im Prozess des Erwachsenwerdens in modernisierten Gesellschaften werden jugendsoziologisch diskutiert, um zu Hinweisen für eine Pädagogik zu kommen, die für Mädchen und Jungen akzeptabel ist und sie angemessen begleiten kann. In diesem Zusammenhang ist für die Allgemeine Erziehungswissenschaft das Konzept des "adoleszenten Möglichkeitsraums" besonders interessant. Die Veranstaltung ist als Lektürekurs konzipiert; zusätzlich dienen Spielfilme der Konkretisierung.
