Kursbeschreibung:
Im Rahmen der Forschung zu Linguistic Landscapes (LL, frz. paysages lingüistiques, spa. paisajes lingüísticos) werden - vorwiegend visuelle - Repräsentationen von Sprache(n) im öffentlichen Raum untersucht. So werden beispielsweise Straßenschilder, Hinweise an Zugtüren oder Speisekarten von Restaurants analysiert, um sprachliche und soziale Praktiken zu erforschen. In diesem Kurs soll dieser Ansatz nicht nur theoretisch besprochen, sondern auch praktisch ausprobiert werden: Die Studierenden werden daher Texte aus ihrer eigenen Umgebung und aus anderen - insbesondere auch zielsprachigen - Räumen (z.B. mittels privater Fotoaufnahmen oder über Google Streetview) analysieren. Während fachwissenschaftliche Studierende als Studienleistung ein eigenes zielsprachiges Analyse-Projekt durchführen, entwerfen Lehramtsstudierende eine Unterrichtseinheit, in der sie mit Schülerinnen und Schülern ein LL-Projekt im Fachunterricht durchführen.

Kompetenzen:
Die Studierenden können...
- Texte des öffentlichen Raums aus verschiedenen Perspektiven (z.B. Mehrsprachigkeit, Registerwahl oder Medieneinsatz) analysieren
- wissenschaftliche Texte lesen, kritisch hinterfragen und für die eigene Forschung nutzen
- den sprachwissenschaftlichen Ansatz der Linguistic Landscapes in der eigenen Forschung und/oder Lehre (Letzteres gilt v.a. für Lehramtsstudierende) umsetzen
