Ziel der Vorlesung ist es, einen Überblick über klassische und aktuelle Theorien, Methoden und Themenbereiche der Sozialpsychologie zu geben und auf die Vordiplomprüfung in Sozialpsychologie vorzubereiten. Die Vorlesung ist Teil eines zweisemestrigen Zyklus, bei dem jeweils im Wintersemester die Themenbereiche "Theoretische Perspektiven und soziale Urteilsbildung" und im Sommersemester die Themenbereiche "Soziale Interaktion, Gruppen und ausgewählte Anwendungsgebiete" behandelt werden. Hauptfachstudierenden der Psychologie wird empfohlen, beide Vorlesungen zu besuchen, beginnend mit dem Wintersemester.
