Die Vorlesung will in die Geschichte der verschiedenen Rechte der antiken Welt samt ihren Verbindungslinien einführen. Behandelt werden sollen die altorientalischen Rechte (Keil-schriftrecht), das altägyptische Recht, das hebräische Recht, das griechische Recht sowie das römische Recht und seine Ausbreitung im Mittelmeerraum. Abschließend soll ein Blick auf die byzantinische Rechtsgeschichte geworfen werden. Fremdsprachenkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich.
Durch erfolgreiche Teilnahme an der Semesterabschlussklausur oder einen Vortrag kann der kleine Grundlagenschein gem. § 21 Abs. 2 Nr. 3 StudPrO erworben werden. Durch einen Vortrag kann zudem die Bescheinigung über den Erwerb einer Schlüsselqualifikation gem. §§ 49 Abs. 1 Nr. 4, 2 Abs. 3, 16 StudPrO erworben werden.
