Die Vertiefung begleitet das Studium des Überblickmoduls und führt in die Techniken wissenschaftlichen Denkens, Beobachtens und Arbeitens ein. Die TeilnehmerInnen konzentrieren sich dabei auf ein Thema anknüpfend an die Vorlesung zum Überblicksmodul (E1 oder E2). Dieses Thema wird nach wiss. Kriterien in Form einer Hausarbeit selbstständig vertieft. Dabei werden für das Verfassen von Hausarbeiten relevante Aspekte des wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens behandelt, wie beispielsweise Methoden zur Themeneingrenzung oder die Fähigkeit zur Entwicklung einer Fragestellung. Zudem werden die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer des Tutoriums in ihrem Schreibprozess begleitet und angeleitet.
Um diesen Prozess angemessen unterstützen zu können, beinhaltet das Tutorium neben Präsenzsitzungen, individuelle Sprechstunden sowie ein Kolloquium zum Ende des Semesters.
Mit der Hausarbeit wird eine unbenotete Einzelleistung (4 LP) erworben. Sie sollte ca. 10 bis 15 Seiten umfassen.
