Folgende Fragen sollen im Seminar anhand von ausgewählten Beispielen (Shakespeare-, Goethe-, Kafka-Verfilmungen, "Institute Benjamenta", "Das Parfum", "Requiem for a Dream") und einigen theoretischen Texten zum Thema Literaturverfilmung behandelt werden: Lässt sich ein literarischer Text so in das Medium Film übersetzen, dass dieser seiner Vorlage gerecht wird? Mit welchen Mitteln? Oder muss er das gar nicht? Wie heben sich audiovisuelle und sprachliche Erzähltechniken voneinander ab?
Die Theorietexte werden rechtzeitig im Stud.IP zur Verfügung gestellt und in den ersten beiden Sitzungen besprochen. Für die übrigen Sitzungen sind die literarischen Vorlagen vorzubereiten.
