Die „Nikomachische Ethik“ des Aristoteles gilt nicht nur als ein klassisches philosophisches Werk allerersten Ranges, sondern auch als die erste umfassende, systematische Ethik überhaupt. In Auseinandersetzung mit der Diskussion seiner Zeit entwickelt Aristoteles eine Theorie der Ziel- und Güterhierarchie, des Glücks, der Gerechtigkeit, der rationalen Entscheidung, der Lust, der Freundschaft u.a.m.
Ziel des Seminars ist es, durch gemeinsame Textlektüre und unterstützt durch Referate der Studierenden zu einem möglichst gründlichen Verständnis wesentlicher Fragestellungen, Begrifflichkeiten, Methoden und Antworten der aristotelischen Ethik zu gelangen.
