This course will survey examples from the work of major English poets of the Seventeenth Century (Donne, Ben Jonson, Milton, Herrick, Marvell, Cowley, Dryden et al.) with a focus on their historical and cultural position between late Renaissance and early Enlightenment literature.

A reader with the course texts will be available in the first week of the semester.

3 Credit Points will be awarded for attendance (1), an oral presentation of one poem (1) and an essay on the selected poem (1)
