This course will have a double focus. First, we will have a look at the role that grammar and vocabulary play in the teaching of English. Then, we will concentrate on how the four skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) can be taught. Taking the current didactic discussion into consideration, we will not only analyse selected units from school textbooks but also have a look at how additional materials and exercises can be integrated into lessons.
Participants will be expected to develop lesson plans for students of various levels and put them to the test with the seminar group.
