Absicht des Seminars ist es, Nietzsches Philosophie, besonders die seiner mittleren und späten Zeit, verständlich zu machen und ihre Behauptungen zu prüfen. Jedes Treffen widmet sich einem bestimmten Sachthema und diskutiert dazu im Detail einige ausgewählte Texte Nietzsches, hauptsächlich aus seinen veröffentlichten Schriften, gelegentlich auch aus dem Nachlass. Sachlich wird dabei der Schwerpunkt auf Nietzsches Moral- und Religionskritik liegen.
Die Anforderungen für den Erwerb einer Leistungsbescheinigung (im BA-Studiengang) und eines Leistungsnachweises (im Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) werden zu Beginn der Veranstaltung bekannt gegeben.

Magister- und Lehramts-Studiengänge: Zwischenprüfung.

Wer es kann, sollte sich die 15-bändige Taschenausgabe von Nietzsches Schriften anschaffen, die bei dtv erschienen ist und den Textteil der Kritischen Gesamtausgabe enthält. Mindestens aber sollte jeder Teilnehmer Band 3 und 5 dieser Ausgabe in der Hand haben.
