This course replaces "EFL: Goals and Content" offered in WS 2003-4. If you attended "Goals and Content", you need not and should not attend this course.
With reference to teaching English in the Gymnasium (5.-10. Klasse) we will focus on Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Writing Skills and Speaking Skills. We will work with selected lessons from current school textbooks but also examine ways of supplementing the textbook, especially with authentic materials. This course will be practical in emphasis and students will develop lesson plans for specific topics and do some micro-teaching to the seminar group.
