Mathematik ist ein Teil der Sprache der Naturwissenschaft. Sie erlaubt es, Sachverhalte so zu beschreiben, dass verschiedene Leute ohne Verständigungsprobleme über das Gleiche reden können. Mehr noch, wir können Naturgesetze in ihr formulieren mit Hilfe ihrer Regeln neue Aussagen ableiten. Vom in Gleichungen gefassten Gesetz bis zur praktischen Anwendung ist es allerdings oft ein weiter Weg, der viel technisches Können erfordert.
Die wichtigen praktischen Kenntnisse sollen in dieser Veranstaltung vermittelt werden, damit der Weg durch das eigentliche Fachgebiet nicht zu einem frustrierenden Hürdenlauf wird. Im zweiten Teil dieser Vorlesung sollenGrundlagen der Vektoranalysis
