In Fortführung der Vorlesung vom Wintersemester geht es jetzt um die Zeit vom 13. Jahrhundert bis zum Dreißigjährigen Krieg. Im Zentrum wird dabei die deutsche Geschichte stehen. Neben einem chronologischen Abriss wird der Schwerpunkt der Veranstaltung auf einer Darstellung der grundlegenden Gesellschaftsstrukturen und deren Veränderung liegen. Themen sind: Grundherrschaft und Dorfbildung; Lehnswesen, Adels- und Königsherrschaft; Städtewesen und Handel; Staatsbildung und Territorium; Kirche und Klosterwesen, Frömmigkeit und Bildung; soziale, wirtschaftliche und demographische Krisen; technische Innovationen und Entdeckungsreisen; Renaissance und Reformation. Fragen der Methode und des theoriegeleiteten Forschens werden themenspezifisch erörtert und vorgestellt.
