Nationalsozialismus und Shoah begegnen Schülerinnen und Schülern nicht nur im Unterricht, sondern auch im außerschulischen Kontext in Kinofilmen, Computerspielen und nahezu dauerpräsent im Fernsehen. Nicht selten, so der Tenor in Lehrerzimmern, aber auch in der Literatur, habe diese Überfrachtung zu einem Desinteresse der Schülerinnen und Schüler an der Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Teil der Geschichte geführt. Wenn man die Lehrpläne, aber auch die Forderung, Schülerinnen und Schüler zur Teilhabe an Geschichtskultur zu befähigen, Ernst nimmt, steht man hier möglicherweise vor einem Dilemma.
Vor diesem Hintergrund soll im Seminar die Frage diskutiert werden, wie man Nationalsozialismus und Shoah im Unterricht behandeln kann. Zunächst sollen daher unterschiedliche Quellen (Ego-Dokumente, Comics, Film, ggf. literarische Werke und Theaterstücke...) auf ihre unterrichtliche Eignung hin untersucht werden, bevor in einem zweiten Schritt eigene Unterrichtsvorhaben entwickelt und diskutiert werden sollen. In Absprache soll eine Exkursion zu einem außerschulischen Lernort erfolgen.
