Mit dem Naturalismus beginnt ‚die Moderne’. Darüber kann man diskutieren. Aber was ändert sich konkret? Wie lässt sich der Naturalismus vom Realismus abgrenzen? Welche Rolle spielen Wissenschaften, Medienkonkurrenz und internationale Austauschbeziehungen? Das Seminar will diesen Fragen nachgehen, indem es ausgewählte programmatische Texte, Gedichte, Dramen und Erzählungen in ihrem sozio-kulturellen Kontext analysiert.
