Kants Grundlegungsschrift ist wohl das bedeutendste Buch der neuzeitlichen Moralphilosophie. Ziel des Proseminars ist ein detailliertes Textverständnis, Klarheit über die Argumentation und ein Bewusstsein ihrer Probleme.
Das Proseminar soll zugleich im Schreiben philosophischer Texte unterrichten. Die gesamte Semesterzeit wird in vier Blöcke eingeteilt. Jeder von ihnen besteht aus mindestens zwei normalen Seminartreffen, in denen der Text gemeinsam erarbeitet wird, und dann aus einer Phase, in der jeder teilnehmende Studierende, unter Anleitung und Kritik des Seminarleiters, eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung zu dem betreffenden Textstück anfertigt. Diese vier schriftlichen Arbeiten zusammen bilden die Grundlage für den Leistungsnachweis.

Das Proseminar ist für Studierende gedacht, die am Anfang ihres Studiums stehen. Wegen der intensiven Betreuung in den Schreibphasen muß die Teilnehmerzahl auf 20 begrenzt werden. (Eine Liste liegt bei Frau Thiel, T 8 201 aus.) Nur solche Studierenden sollten teilnehmen, die vorhaben, in diesem Proseminar einen Schein zu erwerben.
