Mitleid ist nach Schopenhauer das Fundament der Menschenliebe, der Gerechtigkeit und der Ethik. Es schließt die Liebe zu den Tieren ein und ist die natürliche, uneigennützige und allein wirklich moralische Triebfeder ethischen Handelns. Mit seiner Mitleidsethik wirft Schopenhauer eine Alternative zu den drei klassischen Arten der Ethik, der Deontologie, des Utilitarismus und der Tugendethik in die philosophische Arena, die im Seminar v.a. aufgrund einer gründlichen Lektüre seiner Texte diskutiert werden soll.

Die Anforderungen für den Modulportfolio-Beitrag werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.
