Der Umgang mit und der Einsatz von Personal ist eines der zentralen Themen der Managementforschung und Managementtheorie. Neuralgische Bereiche des Personalmanagements sind derzeit etwa das gestiegene Flexibilitätsbedürfnis der Betriebe, die Beziehung zwischen Qualität der Arbeit und Qualität der Produkte, veränderte lebensweltliche Kontexte der Mitarbeiter und das Arbeitszeitmanagement. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, ausgehend von einem Überblick über die Grundlagen des Personalmanagements eine Reihe von aktuellen Problemfeldern zu behandeln. Die Veranstaltung hat den Charakter einer Vorlesung mit Übungen.
