Dieser Kurs ist der Auftakt einer Reihe von Veranstaltungen, die denjenigen Dialogen von Platon gewidmet ist, die politikphilosophisch relevante Inhalte haben. Alle Veranstaltungen, die unterschiedlichen Lehrveranstaltungstypen zugehören werden, sollen so konzipiert sein, dass sie voneinander unabhängig belegt werden können. Gleichzeitig ist diese Reihe aber auch eine Einladung an alle, die in ihrem Studium einen Akzent auf die politische Philosophie bzw. auf die Philosophie von Platon legen wollen. Es geht los mit dem Frühdialog Protagoras. Am Beispiel dieses Textes soll im Rahmen des Textverständniskurses der Umgang mit philosophischen Schriften geübt werden.
Für eine Leistungsbescheinigung (im BA-Studiengang) werden vier Kurzessays erwartet.

Griechischkenntnisse sind vorteilhaft, aber nicht zwingend erforderlich.

Es empfiehlt sich, sich eine Ausgabe des Dialoges zuzulegen. Es gibt auch relativ günstige Gesamtausgaben der platonischen Dialoge.
