In diesem Kurs, der zugleich auch eine generelle Einführung in die politische Philosophie zu sein versucht, geht es inhaltlich vornehmlich darum, die enorme Bedeutung des Konzepts der politischen Stabilität und den einschneidenden Wandel des politischen Denkens hin zum Begriff der Legitimität zu beleuchten, der in der frühen Neuzeit stattgefunden hat. Zu diesem Zweck diskutieren wir voraussichtlich Texte von Machiavelli, Bodin, Grotius, Hobbes und Locke.
Für eine Leistungsbescheinigung im BA-Studiengang werden mehrere kleine Beiträge, die zum Semesterbeginn erläutert werden, für einen Leistungsnachweis in allen anderen Studiengängen wird eine schriftliche Hausarbeit erwartet.

Abschluss des ersten BA-Studienjahres oder zwei Leistungsnachweise aus dem Grundstudium der anderen Studiengänge.

Die Semesterliteratur wird zu Beginn des Semesters in Form eines Readers zum Selbstkostenpreis zur Verfügung gestellt.
