Globalisierung lediglich als Modethema zu etikettieren, greift zu kurz. Mittlerweile findet in den Sozialwissenschaften eine ernsthafte Debatte über das Globalisierungsthema statt, die sich auch mit Medienphänomenen beschäftigt. Im Seminar soll zunächst eine Einführung in grundlegende Konzepte und Modelle der sozialwissenschaftlichen Globalisierungsdebatte gegeben werden. Zweitens soll die Debatte auf Medien übertragen werden. Dabei stehen ? drittens ? bestimmte globale Medienphänomene im Mittelpunkt, etwa CNN, 9-11-01. In diesem Teil sollen Gruppenarbeiten der Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer erstellt und präsentiert werden. Für die Teilnahme am Seminar ist eine Anmeldung per Email notwendig unter kai.hugger@uni-bielefeld.de
