250203 Demokratie in allen Fächern?! (S) (WiSe 2025/2026)

Mathematik, Physik, Biologie, Chemie, Sport, Sprachen, Musik, Kunst oder Informatik haben doch nichts mit Demokratie zutun!? Sie ist das Thema im Politik-, SoWi-, Pädagogik- oder Geschichtsunterricht. Beim ersten Nachdenken mag das plausibel sein.
Demokratie ist in der Schule allerdings eine Querschnittsaufgabe und betrifft somit nicht nur die gesellschaftswissenschaftlichen Fächer (vgl. KMK 2018, S. 8; SWK 2024, S. 21 f. und 36 ff.). Warum ist das so? Ist das sinnvoll? Welcher Demokratiegehalt ist in den unterschiedlichen Fächern schon angelegt und muss nur erkundet werden? Wie können Demokratiekompetenzen und Fachkompetenzen gemeinsam vermittelt und eingeübt werden? Zu diesen Fragen wird im vorliegenden Seminar gearbeitet, indem
- ein systematisches Verständnis von Demokratie entlang bestimmter Schlüsselfragen eröffnet wird (Was ist Demokratie? Wodurch wird sie gefährdet? Warum muss sie verbessert werden? Was sollen Menschen in einer Demokratie wissen und können? Wie können wir eine Demokratie lernen und leben, die es noch nicht gib?),
- drei Beziehungen zur Demokratie gestärkt werden (zwischen Lehrperson und Demokratie, zwischen Fachunterricht und Demokratie, zwischen Schulentwicklung und Demokratie),
- demokratiepädagogische Konzepte als Impulse für die fachliche und unterrichtliche Praxis erkundet werden und eigene konkrete Praxisansätze erfunden werden.
Die entwickelten Praxisideen haben über das Seminar hinaus demokratisierende Wirkung. Das Seminar ist nämlich in die Arbeit der Initiative „Demokratiebildung als (hoch-)schulische Querschnittsaufgabe und demokratisch-politische Bildung als Prinzip der Lehrer*innenbildung!?“ (DePoLe) der Bielefeld School of Education eingebettet. Der Austausch zwischen Dozierenden und Studierenden ist Teil dieser Arbeit.
