In der historischen Forschung stellen handgeschriebene Texte nicht selten eine schwer zu überwindende Hürde dar. Das trifft auch auf Quellen aus den 1930er und 40er Jahren zu, denen verschiedene Schreibschriften zugrunde liegen: Kurrent und lateinische Schrift, Sütterlin und reformierte Verkehrsschriften, wobei das Lesen der Schriften durch individuelle Eigenarten noch erschwert wird. In der Übung sollen zum einen handgeschriebene Texte zur Lokalgeschichte Bielefelds (1933-1945) gelesen, zum anderen themenbezogene Recherchen im Stadtarchiv und in diesem Zusammenhang archivische Ordnungsprinzipien und Suchkriterien vorgestellt werden.
