Die 1959 erschienene 'Blechtrommel' ist einer der bekanntesten Romane der Nachkriegszeit, bei dem der unscharfe Begriff vielleicht sogar sinnvoll ist. Er begründet den Ruhm von Grass und bis heute hält sich die Meinung bei einigen, dieses Niveau habe er nie wieder erreicht. Ob das stimmt, sei dahingestellt, es ist jedenfalls ein großartiger Roman - opulent, traurig, bissig, witzig. Und er hat einen der berühmtesten Protagonisten der deutschen Literaturgeschichte, den trommelnden Oskar. Im Seminar werden wir den Roman Schritt für Schritt lesen und diskutieren. Das Ziel ist einfach: Die 'Blechtrommel' hinterher ein wenig besser verstanden zu haben. Literaturgeschichtliche Kontext-Fragen werden dabei auch in den Blick geraten, am Ende aber steht der Roman im MIttelpunkt.
