Kirchendistanz unter Jugendlichen bedeutet nicht automatisch das Ende einer religiösen Praxis. Kinder und Jugendliche heute haben durchaus eine große Offenheit für religiöse Themen und Symbole. Es geht dabei allerdings oft nicht um eine langfristige, kirchlich angebundende Religiosität, sondern es geht um eine individuelle, lebensnahe und emotional inszenierte Spiritualität. Dieses Bedürfnis nach Sinn bedient das ständig wachsende Jugendmarketing mit ausgeklügelten kommerziellen Strategien rund um Mode, Sport, Musik und Events.
Im Seminar soll dieser Markt der Sinnanbieter kritisch in den Blick genommen werden, um von da aus Folgerungen für die Arbeit im Religionsunterricht zu reflektieren.
