In diesem Seminar beschäftigen wir uns aus linguistischer Sicht mit den Besonderheiten des Umgangs mit der Sprache in den Massenmedien. Diese sprachlich-kommunikativen Besonderheiten werden von der linguistischen For­schung insbesondere bezogen auf Nachrichten und Kom­mentare, Nachrichtenmagazine, Interviews und Gesprächsrunden unter die Lupe genommen. Dabei spielen z.B. Verständlichkeitsaspekte, Bild/Text-Beziehungen oder der Inszenierungscharakter politischer Informationen eine wichtige Rolle. In jüngerer Zeit sind ins­besondere die Analyse sprachlicher Besonderheiten in den sogenannten Neuen Medien (Online-Zeitungen, e-mail- und chat-Kommunikation, SMS, Blogs, Wikis) hinzugekommen. Im Seminar werden ausgewählte Textsorten und Methoden ihrer linguistischen Analyse betrachtet und an exemplarischen Beispielen vorgeführt.
