Please note: This course will most likely take place as a mixture of presence meetings and asynchronous working phases. I will try to combine the benefits of presence and online teaching as well as possible with your personal needs and of course we'll keep a good eye on the development of the Covid19-pandemic when making our decisions.
'''As of now (July 2021), the plan looks as follows:
- we meet in presence at university on 18 Oct, 15 Nov, 6 Dec, 10 Jan and 31 Jan
- on all other dates, you will work in groups on several module tasks - you are free to do so online, or use our seminar room for meeting up (where I will be available for questions / discussions etc., too)'''
During this course, we will have a look at basic approaches to teaching English language competences in the familiar fields of grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, speaking and writing. We will also broaden the view to approaches concerned with literature, inclusive teaching as well as assessment. All through the course, we will combine theoretical input with reflections / discussions as well as practical work on task design and lesson planning.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
