Mit dem Schwerpunkt auf der Entstehung und Entwicklung der "Förderschule mit dem Förderschwerpunkt Emotionale und soziale Entwicklung", früher: "Schule für Erziehungshilfe", in der Region wird diese Institution vorgestellt und kritisch analysiert in Bezug auf ihre Legitimation. Vor allem das Klientel, die Ziele und deren praktische Umsetzung in der Institution stehen im Fokus.
Im Hinblick auf den aktuellen bildungspolitischen Diskurs wird sich mit der derzeitigen Umstrukturierung dieser Sonderschule auseinandergesetzt.

Die verbindliche Teilnahme in der ersten Sitzung am 13.10. ist notwendig für die Organisation der Lehrveranstaltung. Die regelmäßige persönliche Teilnahme an den Seminarsitzungen wird erwartet.
Verbindliche Leistungen für die Vergabe der Aktiven Teilnahme bestehen aus: Ein Exzerpt eines Buchabschnittes, eine vertiefende Aufgabe zum Thema (Selbststudium) und die dazugehörige Präsentation im Seminar sowie die Erstellung eines Textes, der sich an den Protagonisten der Förderschule ESE in Bielefeld richtet. In der Organisation des Seminares werden diese Aufgabenformate, die als Übungen wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens verstanden werden, berücksichtigt.
