Seminar zum neuen Modul: Interdisziplinäre ZellVisualisierung für Naturwissenschaftliche Informatik, Bioinformatik und Genomforschung, Molekulare Biotechnologie, Medienwissenschaften, Medieninformatik und Gestaltung
- Vorlesung: Interdisziplinäre ZellVisualisierung (3CP, SS2012)
- Seminar: Cell Visualization (2 CP, SS2012)
- Projekt: CELLmicrocosmos Cell Modelling (5 CP, SS2012 oder WS2012-13)
(Kann auch unabhängig vom Modul belegt werden.)
In diesem Seminar, das begleitend zur Vorlesung "Interdisziplinäre ZellVisualisierung" angeboten wird, werden deren Inhalte vertieft. So werden beispielsweise Publikationen oder Abschlussarbeiten vorgestellt und diskutiert werden.
Die Schwerpunkte:
- Molecular Renderings
- Educational Visualization
- Scientific Visualization
- New Microscopy Approaches
- (Molecular) Simulations
Natürlich jeweils mit der Ausrichtung ZellVisualisierung.
Abstract
In allen Biologie-verwandten Studienfächern begegnen uns die unterschiedlichsten Visualisierungsansätze von Zellen: Angefangen von Buch-Illustrationen über Filme/Animationen, verschiedenste Arten der Mikroskopie, Lernsoftware und Membransimulationen. In diesem Seminar soll im Rahmen von Referaten ein Überblick und ein erstes Bewertungskonzept zu diesem weitläufigen Thema erarbeitet werden.
Dabei ist die ZellVisualisierung als ein paradigmengenerierendes Konzept zu verstehen, welches im Zeitalter des Information-Overload ebenso auf eine Vielzahl fachfremder Disziplinen angewendet werden kann.
