Die "Sonderschule für Erziehungshilfe" heißt in NRW seit August 2005 "Förderschule mit dem Schwerpunkt emotionale und soziale Entwicklung". Förderbedarf im emotionalen Erleben und sozialem Verhalten wird über das Verhalten des Kindes, bzw. Jugendlichen vermutet und im Rahmen eines sonderpädagogischen Überprüfungsverfahrens festgeschrieben.
Wann hat ein Kind/Jugendlicher welchen Förderbedarf und wie wird es/er gefördert?
In diesem Seminar wird über "Förderbedarf" und Förderkonzepte für Kinder und Jugendliche in der Schule, vornehmlich an Beispielen aus der aktuellen Praxis diskutiert.

Kenntnisse in der Entwicklungspychologie sowie in der Sozialisation von Kindern und Jugendlichen wird vorausgesetzt. Die Bereitschaft für eine Praxisbegehung wird erwartet.
