Das Seminar bietet eine Einführung in feministische Perspektiven auf Menschenrechte. Dabei setzen wir uns zunächst mit der Geschichte der Menschenrechte und den ihre Entstehung begleitenden Kontroversen auseinander (Debatten um Universalität und Objektivität, das Verhältnis zum Staat etc.). Anschließend greifen wir unterschiedliche feministische Perspektiven auf und beschäftigen uns sowohl mit feministischer Kritik wie auch mit ihren Errungenschaften. In diesem Zusammenhang stellen wir auch Verknüpfungen zu postkolonialen und queerfeministischen Ansätzen her. In einem zweiten Teil beschäftigen wir uns mit aktuellen Kontroversen und Herausforderungen, die für eine feministische Perspektive auf Menschenrechte zentral sind, darunter Themen wie Migration, Klimawandel, Religion oder häusliche Gewalt.
