Almost everybody knows at least something about social media and social networks. There are nearly 4 billion users worldwide and for many people social media has become part of their daily life and and their identity. As social media is a space of communication, the aspect of language use is important. Particularly considering that English is the dominant language on these platforms.
In this course we will learn something about social media use in general and also something about the role of English in this context. Furthermore, we will focus on the influence of social media and English use in Southeast Asia.
The Studienleistung will be a group work/group presentation.
The seminar will be ONLINE via Zoom in a synchronous format.
