The learning materials for this course include grammar and writing exercises as well as texts which will develop the student's comprehension and reading skills. Weekly exercises will teach students English-language sentence and paragraph construction as well as the analytical skills necessary to know what makes an English text "good" or "not-as-good."

1) Successful completion an A1.2 course
2) A B1 level rating the C-Test of the Language Center -- for dates please see http://www.uni-bielefeld.de/fachsprachenzentrum/tests.html
3) Permission of the instructor - can be arranged at the first class or with an email request to the instructor.

- This course will cover the key elements of good English writing using short texts, exercises in grammar and usage, and class discussions.
- The final focus of the course will be 3 writing projects: a short story analysis, a news article summary, and a text about a topic chosen by the student.
