This course focuses on Britain since 1945, introducing you to the most important changes that have taken place in British society, politics, and cultures since the end of the Second World War right up to the present. It also considers industrialization and the Empire, the legacies of which continue to make an impact. The course will give you some grounding for the subsequent in-depth pursuit of individual topics dealt with rather summarily here.
The relevant literature will be made available at the start of the semester.
