Das Seminar will das Hauptwerk des Nobelpreisträgers Günter Grass aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven beleuchten. Es ist als Lektüreseminar angelegt. Zusätzlich werden Rezeption, Aneignungen und Fortschreibungen der Werke der Danziger Trilogie durch Verfilmungen, öffentliche Kontroversen, die später Fortsetzung "Im Krebsgang" u.ä. in den Blick genommen.

Requirements for participation, required level

Zumindest der Roman "Die Blechtrommel" muss zwingend vor Seminarbeginn gelesen worden sein. Zu Beginn der Veranstaltung wird durch einen kurzen Test abgeprüft, ob dies der Fall ist.
Jeder Teilnehmer soll - je nach Gruppengröße evtl. zusammen mit anderen - im Verlauf des Semesters an der Vorbereitung einer Sitzung mitwirken.
Die Veranstaltung ist nicht geeignet für das "Studieren ab 50".
