Im Rahmen der Lehrveranstaltung erhalten Diplomanden und Doktoranden der Klinischen Psychologie die Möglichkeit, ihre Forschungsvorhaben vorzustellen und unter verschiedenen Aspekten (z. B. Auswertung und Interpretation der Daten) zu diskutieren. Des Weiteren erhalten die Studierenden anhand des Studiums und der Diskussion von Forschungsstudien (Literaturarbeit) die Möglichkeit, Forschungsstudien im Hinblick auf die Forschungsmethodik adäquat zu beurteilen und Ergebnisse der klinisch-psychologischen Forschung angemessen zu interpretieren.

Die Veranstaltung ist für Diplomanden der Arbeitseinheit Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie verpflichtend. Des Weiteren wird die Veranstaltung Studierenden empfohlen, die ihre Prüfung im Fach Forschungsorientierte Vertiefung: Klinische Psychologie machen wollen.
