Die Literaturwissenschaft brachte Verfilmungen literarischer Werke lange Zeit ein großes Mißtrauen entgegen. Literaturverfilmungen galten als platte, dem literarischen Vorbild kaum gerecht werdende Verzerrung des ursprünglichen Werks. In diesem Seminar sollen Literaturverfilmungen als eine gültige und interessante Möglichkeit der Auslegung und Rezeption literarischer Werke betrachtet werden. Als Tertium comparationis zwischen Film und Literatur dient die narrative Struktur beider Genres. Dementsprechend sollen Handlungsverlauf, Erzählstruktur, Dramaturgie von Film und literarischer Vorlage analysiert und verglichen werden, sowie die unterschiedlichen Zeichensysteme von Film und Buch und deren jeweilige Leistung für Rezeption und Wirkung untersucht werden.
Studierenden, die hoffen hier nicht lesen zu müssen, möchte ich ausdrücklich abraten, diese Veranstaltung zu wählen.
Das Seminar findet 14täglich statt.
Vorbesprechung und Festlegung der Filmauswahl in der ersten Sitzung.
