Katharina Konarek (University of Haifa, Israel) is a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Sociology in summer semester 2021.

The MA course will be taught condensed within 3 weeks. It will analyze the role of the German political foundations abroad by debating the following 4 topics: The course will provide a theoretical frame work by presenting the Foreign Policy Analysis and the World Polity approach by John W. Meyer. Then it will discuss the concept of knowledge as an emerging power of politics in a globalized world. It will also reflect the influence of political Think Tanks of policy decision makers and finally present as a case study the work of the German political Foundations in Israel and the Palestinian Territories.

If hybrid teaching is allowed in July, the last 3 sessions will take place simultaneously face-to-face and online.
